Responsibilities
Tasks
- Instruct apprentices
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Order parts and maintain inventory
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation
- Perform repair work on heavy trucks
- Identifying and diagnosing issues with diesel engines and related systems
- Replacing faulty components within diesel engines, fuel injectors, turbochargers, pistons, valves, and belts
- Perform other routine maintenance
- Inspect and evaluate the condition of engine parts, assess fluid levels and quality, test electrical systems, and conduct performance evaluations.
