<strong><strong>WEEKEND PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKERS<br><br></strong></strong><p><strong>(Bargaining Unit Position)</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Mission Statement:</strong> Homes First Society develops and provides affordable, stable housing and support services to break the cycle of homelessness for people with the fewest housing options.</p><p></p><p><strong>Position Type: Part-time, Permanent </strong></p><p><strong>Location: Adelaide St West and Richmond St W </strong></p><p><strong>Hours of Work: (a) Saturdays and Sundays, 8am-4pm; and </strong></p><p><strong> (b) Saturdays and Sundays, 12:30pm-8:30pm</strong></p><p><strong>Start Date: ASAP</strong></p><p><strong>Salary: $28.76 per hour (As per Collective Agreement)</strong></p><p><strong>Submit resume to: lavanya.sivakumar@homesfirst.on.ca</strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><strong><strong>APPLICANTS MUST QUOTE ?PSW-E?</strong></strong><p></p><p>This position assists clients who are housed within Homes First Society Meegwetch Place to maintain optimal health and mental health stability, while adhering to the mission statement and policies & procedures of Homes First Society.</p><p></p><p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p><ul><li>Assist clients with residency, meals, room cleaning, grooming and hygiene, laundry, recreational and leisure activities and health monitoring</li><li>Arrange, remind and/or escort clients to medical, psychiatric, dental and diagnostic appointments and/or treatments</li><li>Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing</li><li>Excellent time management skills</li><li>About to work independently and in inter-dependent teams</li><li>Update client files accordingly, keep accurate records and document daily information</li><li>Other duties as required</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Personal Support Worker Certification or equivalent work experience.</li><li>Knowledge of mental health issues and several years? experience working with people with mental health issues.</li><li>Certificates in First Aid, CPR and Crisis Prevention</li><li>Ability to work shifts.</li><li>Knowledge of and/or experience with the homeless population, diversity issues, anti-discrimination practices and systemic reasons for homelessness an asset</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Certificate of Completion of Homelessness Learning Hub?s Harm Reduction for the Homelessness Sector considered an asset</li></ul><p></p><p>Working in an environment where there may be smoke is required.<br> Working in a pet friendly environment.</p><p><br> The successful applicant must provide a criminal record check that is satisfactory to Homes First Society.</p><p>Homes First Society is an equal opportunity employer.</p><p></p><p>Homes First Society does not use Artificial Intelligence to screen, assess or select applicants for internal postings.</p><p>This is an existing open position.</p><p></p><p>Please no phone calls, only those people selected for interviews will be contacted.</p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong>Accommodation</strong></p><p></p><p>Homes First is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
