Child Caregiver – Private Home

Wei Luo is currently seeking a Child Caregiver – Private Home (NOC 44100) to provide care and supervision for children at the employer’s residence in Vancouver, BC.
Position Overview:
The Child Caregiver will be responsible for supervising and caring for children in the employer’s home, assisting with their daily needs and activities, maintaining a safe and healthy home environment, and performing related light housekeeping and household duties.
Job Description
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents.
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Shop for food and household supplies.
• Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties.
• Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens.
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents.
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
• Organize activities such as games and outings for children.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
• Prepare infants and children for rest periods.
• Supervise and care for children.
• Take children to and from school and to appointments.
• Tend to emotional well-being of children.
• Help children with homework.
• Cook.
Requirements:
• Completion of Secondary (high) School graduation certificate.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Child Abuse Registry check.
• Criminal record check.
• Drug test.
• References required.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks, work under pressure and pay attention to detail.
• Must demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organization, reliability, time management, patience and honesty.

Terms of Employment: Full Time, Permanent
Working Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
Salary: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, to be negotiated
