Masterpiece Cabinetry and Millwork Inc. is an Ottawa-based custom cabinetry and millwork company specializing in high-quality residential woodworking, renovations, and finish carpentry. We take pride in precision craftsmanship, from custom cabinets and built-ins to full residential renovation projects, and we’re looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team.
Position Details
- Wage: $37.05/hour
- Hours: 30 hours/week (Full-time, permanent)
- Schedule: Morning, Day, and Evening shifts
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Location: Ottawa, ON K1G 3W3
- Vacancies: 1
- Jobs will be at different locations
What You’ll Do
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Prepare estimates of labour and material costs, and prepare tenders and quotations
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and other wooden structures
- Instruct apprentices and supervise a team of 3-4 workers
What We’re Looking For
- 2 to less than 3 years of relevant experience in carpentry, millwork, or renovation
- No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Comfortable with hands tools and working in noisy, dusty on-site conditions
- Physically capable of bending, kneeling, crouching, and handling a demanding workload
- Reliable, client-focused, and a strong team player
- Willing to travel regularly for job sites
