Our 128 bed LTC home in the heart of Cornwall is looking for a cook(s) to complement our dietary team. Competitive wages in a unionized environment.
*Responsibilities*
* meal preparation
* Assist in food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and plating dishes according to established standards.
* Cook menu items accurately and consistently, maintaining high quality and presentation standards.
* Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and safety regulations.
* Sanitary Maintenance
* Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including counters, utensils, and cooking equipment, adhering to health regulations.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders.
* Assist with deliveries
*Skills*
* Proven experience in food service, restaurant or other LTC home environment with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
* Ability to serve guests with professionalism, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
* Familiarity with cooking methods, meal preparation, and kitchen equipment operation.
* Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within the team.
